Frequently asked questions:

What is included in the price?

The lessons, the clay, the use of the wheel and the tools as well as the firing. Plus breakfast, (two courses) lunch, aperitif, (three courses) dinner, coffee, tea       and wine.

Are the courses for beginners or for more advanced students?

The courses are for both. You can learn the basics of pottery or perfectionize your ceramic skills. The classes with guest lecturers however often require some prior knowledge.

When do I have to pay?

After you received the confirmation of your enrolment, a down payment of  € 150 per person is asked to be transferred to our account.

The remaining amount can be transferred 12 weeks before the start of the course. You can also pay in cash on arrival.

Can I bring my children?

No, our courses are reserved for adults. However, if you are on holiday with your partner and children, there is a nice campsite nearby.

My partner is not taking part at the course but would like to stay and eat at La Céramique. Is that possible?

Yes, that is possible. You then pay a supplement for the stay (accommodation, food and drinks).

What is the maximum number of participants?

In general, twelve. It depends a bit on the course.

Can I suggest a guest lecturer?

We are always open to suggestions.

I am a teacher myself. Can I come with my students?

Nice! Feel free to contact us.

I am part of a (ceramics) club and we would like to come for a week outside the existing courses. Is that possible?

It certainly is. Feel free to contact us.

In the workshop

Is the clay included in the price?

For most courses, all clay is included. An exception is made for porcelain, of which a limited amount is included in the price.

Is firing included in the price?

    Please see below.

Is everything I produce also fired?

We reuse a lot of clay, so you can experiment as much as you like. The pieces that you really find worthwhile will be fired in the wood oven.

Please note that you share the space in the oven with all the other participants.

Are there towels in the studio?

There are. Please bring your own apron and/or old clothes.

Tools?

Are plenty available. But you may also bring your own.

Does every course end with a wood firing?

Usually, yes. Unless the course description says otherwise.

Do I have to help in the kitchen?

No, you do not. But we do ask for your help in setting and clearing the table. We have a dishwasher for washing the dishes.

Is there a cleaning round at the end of the course?

Yes, we ask you to clean your wheel and the equipment you used. Then you clean the workshop together with the others.

Can I also spend an afternoon doing something else?

Of course, you can. You can go your own way. In consultation with the other participants, we sometimes organise excursions to other potters, to the      vineyard or to a nice market for example. Do you have an idea of your own? Do not hesitate to let us know during that week.
